Just wondering walker s, is 28 floors too high to smell the teriyaki (which can smell good, but I wouldn’t eat it)?

I actually live in this building right now, on the 28th floor and I have to admit it is an amazing building.

No problems so far, so glad we didnt choose to live in Escala! Bank owns it now.

I used to work practically across the street and to be perfectly honest, it scared the shit out of me to have to go either in or out of the building if I needed to work late. ANYTHING can happen on this block at night. The only time I have felt more insecure was when I lived in 6 floor walkup in Alphabet City on the lower east side of Manhattan in the 70s. $1,000,000 and up is a breathtaking amount of $ to pay to put one’s safety at risk on a nightly basis… On the other hand, if a resident “needs anything” or isn’t “doin’ OK” as in, “hey man, dya need anything? you doin’ OK?” these digs are a place where a short elevator ride is all it takes to spike up your dopamine level.

On a cheerier note, I am happy to report that Opus Northwest Corporation, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Vulcan, which is wholly owned by Paul Allen, has erected some really nice tilt-up concrete structures in Tukwila and Kent. It’s great to see they have an architectural vision that goes beyond big box stores and warehouses.

Situated as it is, with the two smaller buildings snuggled up to the tower, I think it looks like 1521 2nd is “flipping off” Seattle. To avoid the continuing scandal, Opus might want to consider a name change to Oh Puss!

I used to live at this address!!!!

I have a good idea how much it cost. It cost me $400 a month! I lived at the Green Tortoise hostel for two years. It was a great address if you are a pot smoking waste of humanity – so I LOVED IT. Here is a little review of the neighborhood.

Needle Exchange (next door!): Does it get any more convenient to be a junkie!!!

Teriyaki!: This is known around the neighborhood as “Scaryaki!” It used to cost $2.75 but it is not around $5.

The Turf: Used to be the “Olympic Broiler” until the owner put a bullet into a junkie on the front step. Good food and entertainment (pull tabs). Warning: Don’t sit in a reserved booth!!!! Ever. Also offers check cashing!!!!

The Pawn Shop: Closed!!!! Got caught ebaying stufff stolen from Nordstroms.

De-Ja-Vu: Known as De-ja-boobs. Put your old lady to work so that you can cover the rent. I did.

I’m laughing my ass off. Do all these unemployed real estate agents really have nothing better to do than argue with me?

I unfortunately stare at this ugly building from my office. Windows blew off it during a recent wind storm. As they built it, I actually thought the windows they chose were placeholder, they were so ugly. It’s ugly top to bottom. Expensive? Maybe. But still cheapshitcondos.

You’re a total idiot. Yeah, give them away for free. You probably have no idea what it costs to buy a condo downtown that has a water view. The only water view you probably have is looking out your trailer window at the port-a-potty being cleaned.
